DID YOU KNOW? – THERE ARE MANY BENEFITS OF HAVING ALBERTA HEALTH CARE

August 16, 2018

Many people are unaware of what Alberta Health Care will cover for some of your eyecare needs.

– All children 0-18 years of age are covered by Alberta Health Care for one full eye exam every year and one partial eye exam as well. If your children wear contact lenses there is a small mandatory fee that Alberta Health does not cover.
– All seniors aged 65+ are also covered by Alberta Health Care for one full eye exam every year. Again if you wear contact lenses there is an additional fee that Alberta Health does not cover.

Some other imaging is not covered by Alberta Health care and is optional for both seniors and children. Feel free to ask one of our associates on your next visit and we can give you the details.

– Do you have a sore eye? DID YOU KNOW? Alberta Health Care will also cover at any age any medical concerns with your eyes such as redness, soreness, pain and sudden visual disturbances. Give us a call and we can also avoid wait times at urgent care and have you seen by one of our optometrists right away.
