NEW CONTACT LENS HELPS EYE ALLERGIES

February 1, 2022
A woman is putting a contact lens in her eye.

Imagine if a contact lens could one day be used to automatically dispense medication while it’s being worn? Well, that day has arrived! ACUVUE® Theravision™ is the first and only medication-releasing contact lens for allergy sufferers. Thanks to our strong alliance with our ACUVUE® partners, MVO has early access to this exciting new product which means you get to be among the first to try it out!

Up to 80% of contact lens wearers are frustrated with allergies which limits their ability to wear their lenses comfortably. Also, up to half of all those who wear contacts find that eye drops are inconvenient. This leads to poor compliance with drops and reduced wearing time due to symptoms of eye itchiness, redness and watering.

Some quick information:

· Theravision™ contact lenses are single-use daily disposables, meaning they are worn for a full day and then disposed of

· They contain Ketotifen, a prescription anti-histamine that is slowly released over several hours of wear – it starts working within minutes and provides fast-acting, long-lasting relief for up to 12 hours

· Like other lenses in the ACUVUE® family, Theravision™ has UV protection giving an added measure of safety for outdoor activities

· For a limited time you can take advantage of early product launch rebates which may be used alone or in combination with other ACUVUE® products

Winter will be over sooner than you realize. If you are interested in learning if ACUVUE® Theravision™ could be a solution for your springtime eye allergies, speak to one of our doctors at your next visit.
